Christina Matula

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Christina Matula is the author of THE NOT-SO-UNIFORM LIFE OF HOLLY-MEI (Inkyard, April 2022), a middle-grade contemporary about a young girl who moves to Hong Kong because of her mother’s work promotion and suddenly finds herself immersed in an over-the-top world of lavish excess and wealth. Booklist praised, "The first in Matula's debut middle-grade series is a whirlwind of new experiences for readers as mixed-race Holly-Mei (Taiwanese and British) finally sees herself reflected in her environment but strains against newborn societal expectations...the fusion of Mean Girls and a kid's version of Crazy Rich Asians will have readers returning."

Christina is also the author of upcoming picture book MIXED-UP MOONCAKES (Quill Tree, Fall 2024) and THE SHADOW IN THE MOON (Charlesbridge, July 2018), recommended by Ali Wong on social media and for which she won the 2019 Chinese American Librarians Association CALA Best Book Award.
